Integrative Counsellor
Kate is an integrative counsellor who has always been passionate about helping people to value and believe in themselves. She has been counselling at the Stephenson Centre since 2022.
Being an integrative counsellor, Kate is able to adapt a range of counselling approaches specifically to meet the needs of the individual she is working with. She will work towards developing a sense of wellbeing, enabling the individual to feel more at home with themselves and at ease with others.
She believes in the uniqueness of the counselling relationship and will work closely with individuals in a safe and non-judgemental space thoughts and feelings can be gently explored at the individual's own pace. Her hope is that the sessions will allow for feelings of being refreshed and with more clarity around the individual's difficulties.
Although Kate trained as a counsellor later in life, she brings an abundance of experience from having worked in the NHS, employment services and also supporting vulnerable adults and their carers in the health and social care system. As well as being in private practice, she has also been a volunteer counsellor for individuals at a charity which supports those affected by addiction and abuse.
Kate holds a degree (BA) (Hons) in Integrative Counselling from the University of Suffolk, and a Diploma in Counselling from West Suffolk College. As well as working in person, Kate also has a qualification in online and telephone counselling. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully abides by their ethical framework.
