Integrative Counsellor
Mary's counselling approach can best be described as Integrative and combines aspects of several different theories to promote wellbeing. She likes to use psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, person-centred and existential theories and will tailor her approach to suit what best suits you. She will offer you warmth, trust and safety for you to explore difficult emotions.
Mary currently works one day a week at a charity in Sudbury, and volunteers at a Hospice for Palliative counselling and bereavement counselling along side her private practice. Previous counselling experience includes working with families affected by addiction and working for a charity that counsels young people aged 17-24 years.
Prior to becoming a counsellor Mary worked for the Health Service for 27 years undertaking face to face work in the community, a health care setting and more recently at a boarding school.
Mary has a BA (Hons) in Counselling from University of Suffolk and a BACP Certificate of Counselling Proficiency 2022.
