Integrative Counsellor

“It is the relationship that heals…”

Life, with all its challenges can seem very difficult at times and emotions are hard to process alone or with loved ones.  Jo aims to offer her clients a safe, caring and compassionate space to explore in depth, in confidence and without judgement the issues that her clients bring into counselling.

It is Jo’s belief that all people are unique and, being trained in integrative counselling, Jo tailors her approach to each client in each session to explore feelings, emotions, experiences and relationships in a completely individual way, going wherever is needed to build a close therapeutic relationship.  In this trusting space, she works with her clients to gain new insight, fresh perspectives and work towards the healing that her clients seek so that they can continue their journey through life with more self-acceptance, resilience and fulfilment.

Jo has experience working with clients whose lives are affected by a wide range of difficulties, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, relationship problems, loss, the effects of trauma, addictions, lack of self-worth, shame and guilt, loss of direction and distressing feelings.  She has worked both in private practice and in the charity sector.  She has also worked within the healthcare system and on a helpline supporting people in crisis.

Jo is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works to their standards and code of ethics.
