Psychodynamic Counsellor
James is a psychodynamic counsellor beginning his work at the Stephenson Centre in Ipswich whilst still a student.
He has worked with, and is experienced in, a variety of presenting issues which include anxiety, depression, anger, bereavement, trauma, identity issues, relationship issues, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
James’ previous experience before qualifying was in the hospitality sector predominantly in management roles where he worked for 10 years with a range of people and from varying backgrounds and abilities.
He feels passionate about his work and his ability to ‘hold’ and ‘contain’ distress for the individuals he works with, allowing the working through of long standing as well as immediate difficulties.
James holds a Clinical Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, is a registered member of the BACP and attends regular Continuing Professional Development training to enhance his thinking and understanding. He has undertaken additional training in short term counselling.
