Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Joanna has over 20 years’ experience working in Clinical Psychology within the NHS, with an extensive background in Adult Mental Health and more recently as a Clinical Lead within Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health. She specialises in psychological therapy and intervention with adults and older adolescents. She is a specialist in working with trauma alongside many years of experience working with the full spectrum of depression, anxiety, adjustment and emotion regulation difficulties.
Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist (University College London), Joanna has undertaken additional substantive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She holds a post-graduate Certificate in CBT, is a qualified CAT Practitioner and is trained in EMDR. She also has comprehensive experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills delivery.
Joanna has wide experience of individual, group and family intervention, consultation, supervision and teaching, drawing on a broad range of specialist models (CBT, CAT, EMDR, DBT, ACT). She takes care to select and combine appropriate therapeutic models to develop a treatment plan which is uniquely tailored to the needs and preferences of the individual. She is a highly experienced trainer and consultant, both to organisations and professionals but also families and members of the public regarding mental health and promoting psychological health and wellbeing. She is a published researcher.
Joanna is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT).
