Integrative Counsellor
Sarah is a qualified counsellor having studied the Integrative approach to counselling. This means when seeing individuals, she can use a variety of techniques and ways of thinking assimilated from the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT philosophies. This allows her to place the individual at the centre of their own therapy and means their unique journey is facilitated responsively as an individual.
Sarah will provide a space that is welcoming, respectful and non judgemental; where the individual will be heard and seen and she will create an environment where difficult issues, feelings and emotions can be explored and understood.
She has a strong belief and ability in establishing a therapeutic relationship where the individual can feel safe to explore and enable new perspectives and insight into themselves and their relationships. Sarah has worked with a variety of psychological and emotional difficulties including loss and bereavement, depression and low self esteem, addictions and anxiety.
Sarah’s own journey to becoming a therapist included many years working clinically in a healthcare environment and prior to this, teaching adults in an education setting.
These experiences have allowed her to gain insight into many different people’s life situations and emotional responses. She feels this has developed and deepened her empathetic understanding and led her to train as a counsellor.
Sarah holds a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is a member of the BACP.
